It’s now the Republicans vs. the socialists in 2016, says NRO’s Jim Geraghty.
A new poll shows that socialism is more popular than capitalism among Democrats.
Overall, only 25% of adults have a favorable opinion of it, while 48% view capitalism favorably. But among Democrats, 49% view socialism favorably compared to 37% for capitalism. Oddly enough, 11% of Republicans were shown to have a favorable opinion of socialism.
I’ve been saying for years that Democrats should rebrand themselves as Democratic socialists because that is essentially what they are.
But because they are essentially craven, poll-driven connivers, most Democrats have been in the closet about their far-left ideology for years, using the euphemism “progressive” to describe themselves. This poll should give them the courage to finally come out of the closet and embrace the socialist label.
