Yesterday it was exactly three years ago that the great conservative warrior Andrew Breitbart passed away. Breitbart was a hero and example to many — myself included. I first met him in Azerbaijan, where we were both invited to talk about Azeri-U.S. relations. I was immediately struck by his passion, determination, knowledge of how the Internet works, and his great love for his family. The man was truly a walking, talking and fighting happy warrior.
The last couple of days I’ve been impressed by the amount of people who knew Andrew personally and who were inspired by him. As David Swindle wrote in 2012: the man has become immortal.
Senator Ted Cruz is one of them. At an exclusive reception at CPAC 2015, he raised his glass in a toast to the man who is still “with us, he’s watching, and let me tell you: he enjoyed election day 2014.” The senator went on:
The voice of Andrew Breibart said: “No matter what the threat, no matter what the peril, stand up, speak the truth. Speak truth to power and call evil by its name. And while you’re at it, have a heck of a lot of fun.” So to Andrew!

That’s Andrew in a nutshell: fight the good fight… and don’t forget to enjoy it!
