Sen. Dianne Feinstein appeared on Face the Nation Sunday, and revealed that more than three years after Obamacare passed she — a senior senator from a large state — still doesn’t really know what’s in the law that she voted to foist on the nation.
She also revealed that the Obama administration is giving her a new spin on that law.
SCHIEFFER: The president said in the beginning that one thing was that if you liked the health care program you had, you could keep it. We now know there was debate within the administration before he said that as to whether that was actually a promise that could be kept. Should the president not have made that statement?
FEINSTEIN: Well, as I understand it, you can keep it up to the time — and I hope this is correct, but this is what I’ve been told — up to the time the bill was enacted, and after that, it’s a different story. That part of it, if true, was never made clear.
Who is telling Feinstein that now? What were they telling her before? Why isn’t she incensed that they changed the story on her?
Oh, right, because she’s a Democrat and voted for Obamacare.
To be clear, that was not the sales pitched used to get Obamacare through Congress. Obama said over and over again “If you like your healthcare, you can keep you healthcare. Period.” Those declarations have expired.
The new spin goes something like this: If you liked your healthcare but the Democrats didn’t, then you don’t get to keep it, because they said so. Even if losing your healthcare may end up costing you your life. The Democrats tricked you, but the law is the law and you cannot question it now. If you’re in the middle class, well, too bad, you’re stuck, so just go ahead and die quickly.
Feinstein didn’t bring this up on CBS, but she is one of the big government fans who want Americans to trust her with our guns and with our border security.
