VIDEO -- When Barack Obama Promised that 'If you like your health insurance, you can keep it.'

Barack Obama, June 15, 2009: “We will keep this promise to the American people. If you like your doctor you will be able to keep your doctor. Period. If you like your healthcare plan, you will be able to keep your healthcare plan. Period.”

Barack Obama, September 9, 2009: “Nothing in our plan requires you to change what you have.”

Well, other than the deletion of plans that HHS deems “substandard” under Obamacare’s thousands of regulations, sure. Other than Obamacare making people buy health insurance products they don’t need and therefore pay far more, sure. Other than stifling competition, wrecking the 40-hour work week and causing many employers to cut hours and/or dump their employees onto the dysfunctional exchanges, sure. Other all that, promise kept!

The tragedy here is not so much that the man who offered this plan had no basis for making any promises because he didn’t even know what was in the plan. The real tragedy here is that millions of Americans believed him. They bought a pig in a poke, falling for one of the oldest con man tricks around.
