Fox News Poll: Obama In Free-Fall

This should bring on more magic speeches.

President Barack Obama’s job rating remains upside-down — no big change there. Yet for the first time in a Fox News poll, more than half of voters find Obama unlikeable.

In addition, only about a third of voters say they trust the federal government, and most want Congress to continue to investigate Benghazi, the IRS, the government’s electronic surveillance program and the Justice Department’s monitoring of journalists.

The new Fox News national poll of registered voters was released Tuesday.

More voters disapprove than approve of Obama’s job performance on every issue save one: terrorism (on that the president receives positive marks — 52 percent approve, while 41 percent disapprove).

His unfavorable rating is now at 51 percent, the first time it’s tipped to that end of the scale.

The question now is whether the administration’s troubles will continue and become the party’s troubles next year. The GOP has some real opportunities in the upcoming midterms and needs to stop getting distracted (as always) and figure out strategies to tie vulnerable Democrats to the president. By that I mean strategies that resonate, not the old gloomy-voiced TV ads telling everyone how many times Candidate X “voted with” the president.

It would also help if everyone would stop acting as if the apocalypse were nigh, because that makes it difficult to avoid the gloomy-voiced stuff.
