IKEA Goes Dhimmi in Saudi Arabia

IKEA is now apologizing for its descent into dhimmitude and cooperation with Saudi Arabian authorities and Sharia values by removing all images of women from their catalogue. You know those racy IKEA catalogues with all the hot chicks putting together complicated Swedish furniture while toddlers look on. Maybe they mixed it up with the Victoria’s Secret catalogue.

Anyway, given the history of IKEA’s founder, this is no surprise. Nevertheless, that history notwithstanding, there are nowplenty of IKEA stores in Israel, one opening in Haifa not far from where Intel and, soon, Apple will have their headquarters – definitely an area where the locals will understand how to put the furniture together.
