Scott Brown: 'Independent'

Sen. Scott Brown (R-Mass.), facing a challenge from Consumer Financial Protection Bureau special advisor Elizabeth Warren, doesn’t mince words in his first ad — called, simply, “Independent”:

ThinkProgress has its knickers in a twist over this, though, noting Brown voted with the GOP to filibuster “a stunning” 76 percent of the time.

Independents fueled Brown’s victory to fill the late Ted Kennedy’s seat in 2010. President Obama won 57 percent of independents in 2008, but Brown is estimated to have nabbed some 65 percent of independents in his first Senate race.
