The Veep Odds Across the Pond: Rubio, Christie, Ryan

An Irish bookmaker is getting into the vice presidential guessing game with its odds for the mystery No. 2 on the ticket.

President Obama currently has 2/5 odds at Paddy Power to win re-election; Mitt Romney has 15/8 odds. Poor Newt Gingrich is down at 80/1 alongside two people who have never run in the contest: Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton.

Romney is now 1/50 to win the Republican nomination, with Rick Santorum at 20/1.

The vice presidential betting list includes 28 names, though others can be added to the site by request.

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) currently has the best odds, at 11/4. He’s followed by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie at 5/1, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) at 5/1, Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell at 6/1, and New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez at 9/1.

Sens. Rob Portman (R-Ohio) and Rand Paul (R-Ky.) tie at 10/1 odds.

Former presidential hopeful Rick Perry and former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin are near the bottom with 66/1 odds, just above Donald Trump’s 80/1 odds.

Herman Cain is at the bottom of the odds chart with 100/1 odds.
