Is Media Matters' MJ Rosenberg Channeling The Pink Panther Movies' Chief Inspector Dreyfus?

Remember the Herbert Lom character in the Pink Panther movies with Peter Sellers? Chief Inspector Dreyfus hated Inspector Clouseau so much he couldn’t discern between Clouseau’s good and bad acts.  The guy went mad trying to destroy everything Clouseau did. Take this exchange from the Revenge of the Pink Panther

Chief Insp. Dreyfus: Clouseau?
Clouseau : Yes?
Chief Insp. Dreyfus : Are you wounded?
Clouseau : No. Fortunately I was saved by the darkness.
Chief Insp. Dreyfus : So what we need is more light.

Media Matter’s for America’s (MMFA)  foreign policy fellow, MJ Rosenberg has become  is infamous for pushing anti-Semitic stereotypes, such as accusing American Jews who support Israel of dual loyalty (he calls them Israel-firsters), or claiming the “evil Zionist lobby” controls both the media and the U.S. foreign policy (being both married and Jewish Rosenberg knows very well that that Jewish men don’t even control what goes on in their own homes).

Lately Rosenberg’s hatred of his own people has grown so intense, it seems as if he is channeling the fictitious Dreyfus.

Recently the Forward, a Jewish Newspaper with a progressive tilt, reported two Jewish Organizations that that put progressive politics before their mission, the ADL and The AJC, have seen their donations plummet  during the past five years. Apparently the money is shifting toward single-issue organizations, especially Israel advocacy groups.

The MMFA fellow couldn’t wait to tweet out the news that the donations were down, because it matched some of his previous statements that groups such as AIPAC were “relics of  paranoia.”

Apparently MJ didn’t read the entire article before he retweeted it, or maybe he didn’t notice the the part of the article where it says the money lost by AJC and the ADL went to Israel-advocacy groups or as MJ would call them, Israel-firsters.  Groups whose bankroll increased included his arch nemesis AIPAC  The Israel Project, and Stand With Us, all Israel advocacy  groups that he would call Israel-firsters.

MJ also missed the fact that the groups that lost money, such as the ADL and AJCongress support progressive policies and candidates who tend to feel the same way about Jews and Israel as  he does.

Instead of proving his point, Rosenberg made himself look silly, just like Inspector Dreyfus.
