The hidden advocacy message here is that federal immigration law is restrictive as well. SB1070 really seeks to do nothing more than empower the state to do what the feds have long neglected to do. And, as anyone paying attention knows, the long term goal of this administration is to unravel current law and adopt an “open the floodgates” approach.
