President George W. Bush just called to say “Welcome to my world.”
Daniel Fiol lodged a written complaint at the International Criminal Court accusing the US president of breaching the Geneva Convention.
Navy Seals acting on Mr Obama’s orders shot the al-Qaeda leader dead on May 2 after storming his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
In his written complaint, the Majorca-based lawyer said bin Laden should have been “pursued, arrested, tried and convicted” on behalf of “the victims of some terrible and appalling atrocities”. The killing of bin Laden was even worse as it took place in foreign territory, Pakistan, without the permission of that government, he said.
“I am not being paid by al-Qaeda,” Mr Fiol joked.
Well, that’s because you’ll do their bidding for free.
Robert Spencer asks the relevant questions about all this:
Does Daniel Fiol think that the 9/11 attacks were a crime against humanity? Did he file a complaint with the ICC about them?
Here’s what always gets lost when leftists like Fiol get involved: Terrorists are war criminals. Terrorists intentionally attack civilians, they don’t wear regular uniforms, they don’t operate under a recognized nation or chain of command. Heck, they even videotape themselves butchering innocent civilians and captured enemy military, whom they should treat as prisoners of war in accord with the Geneva Conventions. That leftists like Fiol don’t file complaints against the Mullah Omars and Ayman al-Zawahiri’s of the world, but do consistently criticize our leaders for going after and getting terrorists, gives the game away, both as to their intent and to which side they’re actually on.
