Video: Ted Cruz slams Obama's meddling in the Leal case

The case centers on Humberto Leal, the illegal alien from Mexico convicted and sentenced to death for the brutal rape and murder of a 16-year-old girl in 1994. The execution is set for 6 pm local time in Texas. Ted Cruz was solicitor general for Texas when the Bush administration sided with the World Court and intervened in the Medellin vs Texas case. So the issues over which President Obama is meddling now have been litigated; the Supreme Court declined to get involved. Mr. Medellin met his just end.

Cruz successfully argued the Medellin case before the Supreme Court, and appeared on Fox today to discuss the Leal case. He is a GOP candidate for the US Senate in 2012.

Basically, Barack Obama is once again messing with Texas, and in this case is also risking US sovereignty at the same time.
