President Obama’s Openness Award? ATF stonewalls Fast and Furious investigation

Yesterday, President Obama received an award for his alleged efforts to create more open government. Curiously, as Austin’s KXAN notes: “No media coverage or public access was allowed at the ceremony.”

Today, Congressman Darrell Issa issued a subpoena to the ATF for stonewalling on Operation Fast and Furious, which has been assisting cartel operatives in illegally purchasing guns from American gun stores and smuggling them into Mexico, resulting in 150 Mexicans getting shot. This smuggling operation also may be tied to the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, and Issa also wants any ATF documents related to that investigation.

Openness? We don’t need no stinkin’ openness.
