Why should the ATF tell the truth about Mexico’s guns…

…when a lie works better?

The LA Times reported:

“Lawmakers in Mexico are demanding an investigation into a U.S. law enforcement operation that allowed hundreds of weapons to flow into the hands of Mexican drug cartels amid claims from a ranking legislator that at least 150 Mexicans have been killed or wounded by guns trafficked by smugglers under the watch of U.S. agents.”

In other words, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives conspired to enable illegal firearm purchases and smuggling of these guns into Mexico, resulting in 150 Mexicans getting shot.

Dan Gifford wrote about the motive for such actions. Quoting Charles Krauthammer, it’s all about foisting gun control as a panacea to violence. (In this case, it’s about convincing you that a new “assault weapons” ban will save Mexico.)

“Ultimately, a civilized society must disarm its citizenry if it is to have a modicum of domestic tranquillity of the kind enjoyed in sister democracies like Canada and Britain … Yes, Sarah Brady is doing God’s work.”

Since their bans, violent crime rates skyrocketed, led by rape. UK women are now raped about twice as often as American women, and Australian women at thrice the rate as in gun-owning America. Nice job betraying your sisters, Sarah.
