Did the Democratic National Committee steal their new logo?

Maybe! Take a look at this photo. It’s the Hotel Derek, one of the NCAA Final Four host hotels in Houston, TX.

Here’s a detail of the logo at the top center.

Just in case anyone thinks we’ve pulled a Photoshop shenanigan, here’s the Hotel Derek’s web site. The logo above is there, albeit in muted colors.

Now, here’s the logo that the Democratic National Committee unveiled last year, to an epic fail of attempted hoopla.

There are minor differences, but it’s basically the same logo, to the extent that one could be a variation on the other. What do you think — logo theft, or just more evidence that the Democrats really don’t have any new or original ideas?
