More Bad News (Egypt)

Two men involved in the assassination of Anwar Sadat have been released from prison.  Mitigating factors:  their sentences had been served, and the military promises to keep them under surveillance for five years.

Well, that surveillance business is worthless.  It’s what governments promise when they intend to let the bad guys escape.  These two were members of Islamic Jihad, whose top guy at the time, Ayman Zawahiri, subsequently became Osama bin Laden’s #2.
