If you can't beat 'em, copy 'em

Well it’s been Microsoft’s tactic for years (or as us tech-heads like to call them Micro$loth): take a look at what a competitor is doing, copy it, and then try to use your market-dominance muscle to push them out of the business.

Sometimes it’s worked OK for Microsoft, although there’s a huge string of failures — the Zune, for example. Usually when they can’t muscle the company out, Bill Gates and crew simply buy them.

Not really an option with Google, which is the first company in decades, possibly ever, with the moxy to go toe to toe with Microsoft.

But Fox News is reporting Microsoft is certainly trying their usual tactics. Seems they got caught copying Google’s search results on their Bing search engine. I’m not at all certain what Google can do about it, but I’m popping popcorn and sitting back to watch as these two titans collide.
