The end of the netbook?

Engadget has an intriguing post about how Acer is positioning itself for the end of netbook computers.  The next step, if Acer has guessed right, is slate style computers.  If so, the iPad has officially changed the world in spite of its ridiculed name.

We picked up an Acer Aspire One netbook during Christmas.  It’s a great little machine, nearly as handy as an iPhone and perfect for day to day email, facebook etc.  But the move to slates makes sense, and the one Acer is building sports a dual core processor and runs Android.  I’m officially intrigued.
