The New Race Card

Another piece from the Rome Sentinel, the guy’s on a roll:

It is expedient for the political elite if voters never consider opposition positions have merit. That’s why the political left too often caricatures opposing views rather than considers them. One national press member recently emailed, “The Tea Party, the very name is ridiculous. Crazed fat people tortured by their lack of success in life, following the absolute worst of our politicians.” The phrasing denies the good will of those who offer sound solutions to perplexing problems that vex us all. The phrasing offers no specific criticism, but serves simply an excuse to remain comfortably thoughtless and unchallenged.
