I missed this yesterday, but Zombie brought to our attention that UC Berkeley Chancellor Robert Birgeneau saw fit to blame the Tucson shootings on “racism.” Said Birgeneau:

It is not a coincidence that this calamity has occurred in a state which has legislated discrimination against undocumented persons.

Birgeneau’s office said Tuesday that the statement spoke for itself.

If Birgeneau is right, this could be the first murderous rampage due entirely to bad vibes, which should concern every intoxicated American.

By the way, Tucson posts a murder rate of 0.11 per 1000 residents, while San Francisco has a rate of … 0.11 per 1000 residents. Just sayin’.
