President Obama has been getting some very bad counsel on how he should handle Wednesday’s speech in Arizona. If he were to follow it, he would be willfully inflaming an awful situation and aligning himself with the minority of Americans who agree with the left’s version of what happened in Tucson, which is driven more by cynicism and opportunism than anything else. Matt Lewis offers the president some good advice: Avoid politicizing it.
But I doubt the president will be able to resist the temptation. He hails from the half of his party that is pushing blame for the acts of a madman onto their political opponents.
