Way back in the late 1900s, Howard Stern was the epitome of a fearless, edgy iconoclast. He was the shock jock's shock jock, never really caring who he offended or what the consequences from the Federal Communications Commission might be.
Then COVID-19 hit, and it not only dulled Stern's edge, but it turned him into the kind of celebrity that the Howard Stern from 1992 would have ceaselessly mocked. It's painful for old time fans of his to watch or listen to him now.
Kevin and I are two of those old time Howard Stern fans. We both loved the fact that he made a name for himself by giving the finger to federal regulators.
The Howard Stern of 2024 is just an oversized lapdog for the establishment he once so despised. His fawning interview last week with Kamala Harris was the most embarrassing thing he's ever done on the air. The guy did everything but soil himself for her.
In this episode, we reminisce about the Howard Stern that was and find a few unkind things to say about the Howard Stern that is.
