One of the most famous Monty Python sketches ever gave us the classic line, "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!" In the modern media era, most Republican candidates have gone into debates wholly unprepared, as if they'd never seen one before.
They never expect the Spanish Inquisition.
JD Vance went into his vice presidential debate not only expecting the biased moderators' Spanish Inquisition but armed with a plan to deal with it.
Vance was the very embodiment of "Kill 'em with kindness," standing in stark contrast to Tim Walz, who spent the entire debate looking like the angry old man next door who desperately needs a Metamucil fix.
Kevin and I talk about what Vance's performance might or might not mean for the race. I also get in what I promise to be my last rant about the Republican Party and these insane sham debates.
