Dave Portnoy is the founder of the internet funhouse known as Barstool Sports and he — like a great many Americans — is not a fan of organized labor. He is also not shy about the fact, and that has now attracted the attention of The Mouth That Never Shuts, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.).
When Portnoy caught wind that a rival site’s employees had formed a union, he re-posted something he’d written four years ago that expressed his feelings about what would happen if Barstool employees ever wanted to do the same:
BAHAHA! I hope and I pray that Barstool employees try to unionize. I can’t tell you how much I want them to unionize. Just so I can smash their little union to smithereens. Nothing would please me more than to break it into a million little pieces.
All that Portnoy wrote after that was very tongue-in-cheek, so it could have been written off as him just having fun. If only one thing has been learned in the past several years it’s that social media liberals abhor fun.
That’s really the only explanation as to why Area Liberal Rafi decided to wander into the buzzsaw that he did:
If you work for Barstool and want to have a private chat about the unionization process, how little power your boss has to stop you, and how you can leverage that power to make your life better: my DMs are open.

Portnoy was not at all shy about expressing his feelings regarding Rafi’s offer to help:

That woke up Squad Princess Alex, who took a break from working on her latest plan to financially violate American taxpayers (#MeToo) just long enough to publicly threaten a private citizen:
If you’re a boss tweeting firing threats to employees trying to unionize, you are likely breaking the law &can be sued,in your words, “on the spot.”
ALL workers in the US have the protected freedom to organize for better conditions.
See @NLRB &union orgs like @AFLCIO for tips. https://t.co/bU7WlHrp1d

Even if you’re not a reader, I recommend pouring yourself an adult beverage and perusing the comments that followed that.
AOC’s not-at-all-veiled attempt to enlist the help of her communist thug union friends worked, and the AFL-CIO soon joined the fray.
Portnoy remained unruffled even after the AFL-CIO’s bullying tactics. This ain’t his first Twitter troll rodeo, after all. After AOC subtweeted him, Portnoy issued her an invitation:
Hey @aoc welcome to thunder dome. Debate me. https://t.co/XEmEvt12N4

Again, do a deep dive into the replies to these various tweets and you will see no better representation of the real divide in 2019 America: fun people vs. the humorless.
Portnoy’s unabashed enjoyment of his life and work is an affront to liberals, especially progressives. They’re political ghouls who feed on the misery of others, most of which they create and perpetuate. Nothing scares the crap out of a Democrat more than an American who is having fun at home or work without the government telling him how he should be doing it.
AOC won’t be debating Portnoy, of course. She doesn’t do well when confronted by anyone whose IQ is higher than her age, which hers isn’t.
The leftist Perpetual Outrage Mob has gotten far too comfortable with being able to use social and conventional media to bully people who deviate from the Hive Mind.
It’s a pure delight to see someone like Dave Portnoy, who not only isn’t caving to the mob, but is enjoying the you-know-what out of aggravating them.
