Nukes: I don't want to say I told you so, but..

I’ve tried to empahsize the importance of doing something about the danger of accidental nuclear war, and called attention to it here.

And what do you know, today, a few days after my Slatestory was posted, The Drudge Report bannered in apocalyptic headline type:

AIR FORCE LOST TRACK OF FIVE NUKES

And links to this story which doesn’t really reassure much.

It confirms my sense that ever since the euphoria of the end of the Cold war, this single most threatening issue has been put on the shelf. Time for Congresssional hearings!
