POLIWOOD: The Joel Surnow interviews, part one

For POLIWOOD this week, Lionel Chetwynd and I interviewed Joel Surnow – producer extraordinaire and one of the more successful people on the right negotiating the traditionally liberal shoals of Hollywood. The interview comes to you in two parts. The first is Camelot Fights Back: Who Killed ‘The Kennedys’ Miniseries about the travails of Surnow and his colleagues in surfacing their multi-part Kennedy biopic that was commissioned and rejected by the History Channel, only to appear just now on Reelz. (As it turns out, the History Channel folks were heroes. For the real villains, check the interview.)

Part II of the interview concerns the evolution of Surnow’s greatest hit, the iconic 24. That will be posted in a few days.
