Assuming a coming Obama administration.... what will he do?

Will Barack govern as a traditional liberal or will he follow the lead of other clever presidents and… triangulate?

Two of the recent smarter presidents – Nixon and Clinton – both triangulated. (Of course, we all know they both made other bigger mistakes, but we’ll skip over those for the minute.).  Nixon opened the door to China and signed the most important environmental legislation to this day.  Clinton walked back welfare and was an intermittent hawk, making Bush-like pro-democracy war in Bosnia.

What will Obama do?  Well, we don’t have many clues yet.  If he’s smart and wants to be reelected, he will look to Clinton (except in the area of libido).
