LA - city of the nameless

I didn’t even realize that “South Central” LA wasn’t even “South Central” anymore.  But I shouldn’t have been surprised. Life in Los Angeles has gotten progressively worse and more anonymous, if such a thing were possible , in the last decade or so.  Maybe it’s just as well they’re taking away the names.  A few years back some wit in the city government decided to call the hideous intersection of Sunset and LaBrea, dominated by three of the world’s ugliest strip malls, Billy Wilder Square.  Some honor.  Fortunately for fans of “Some Like It Out,” you could drive by the intersection for years without noticing the obscure little sign with the name.
