Will Congress listen to their betters...

… or at least their “smarters”? … I’m talking about Bill Gates, a vastly more interesting and accomplished person, no matter what you think of him, than anyone currently in our Congress. Gates told a Senate committee that we’d better wise up about our restrictive immigration policies toward the technically educated.

“It makes no sense to tell well-trained, highly skilled individuals, many of whom are educated at our top colleges and universities, that the United States does not welcome or value them,” Mr Gates said. “America will find it infinitely more difficult to maintain its technological leadership if it shuts out the very people who are most able to help us compete.”

The short-sightedness is incredible, isn’t it? Maybe Gates can wake up the political hacks.
