New Hope for the Dead

Couldn’t resist using the title of my favorite Charles Willeford novel for my first (very brief) post on the Academy Awards … Perhaps I should have called it New Bob Hope for the Dead. [Get outta here.-ed.] Anyway, this is one Academy voter who is looking for the “None of the Above” column on his ballot for Best Picture this year, because notone of those movies deserves Best Picture any more than a home movie taken by my Uncle Sid in 1958. [You don’t have an Uncle Sid.-ed. That’s my point.]

Anyway, I’m in JFK and my flight back to LA has just been called, so more later. Meanwhile, have a look at this site for a review of who exactly is in the Academy.
