The Byrd is a (bad) Wyrd

Captain’s Quarters has some interesting posts (scroll down) about former Ku Kluxer and current West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd’s recent accusation of “Nazi” tactics on the part of the Republicans. Byrd is one of the more contemptible figures in American public life. The idea that someone who actually fillibustered the Civil Rights of 1964 could lecture anyone on any moral issue is beyond comprehension. The idea that he’s still in the United States Senate is pretty incredible too. But, hey, I’m not from West Virginia. I’m not responsible.
