The Battle of Fallujah...

… has probably begun, not coincidently one day after the last presidential debate. Although I didn’t have the courage to write it, I had a suspicion this would happen when I read all the public talk that such things would be postponed until after the election. It’s a guts move because if the battle is successful relatively quickly, it will propel Bush to victory in November. If it’s a mess, he’s probably a goner.

UPDATE: Of course, there may be a better explanation for the timing.
