One of Hollywood’s premier talent agencies has just snapped up a hot new talent who is destined to become, in the near future, a star of stage and screen. His signing by the Creative Artists Agency represents a slight career shift on his part, but there is no doubt that he has that indefinable “it” factor in spades and is headed for the fantastic lights. The rising star’s name is Old Joe Biden.
This is just another example of how the political game is played, or was until Donald Trump came along. And his refusal to play along is one of the reasons why he is the object of such incandescent hatred from the left. The rules have been established for years: if you’re a member of the leftist political establishment, whether you’re a Democrat or a RINO, holding public office is a never-ending gravy train. And if you were president of the United States, the money just never stops rolling in. Even if you’re an ex-president, you still wield considerable political and cultural influence, and so if you’re inclined toward influence peddling, there is always a ready market.
And so The Hill reported Monday that Old Joe “signed with Creative Artists Agency (CAA) on Monday, giving a window into his post-presidency next moves.” Hints as to what he might be spending his time doing now that he is no longer pretending to be president come from his past association with the same agency: “Biden was represented by CAA from 2017 to 2020, between his time as vice president and president. He published his memoir ‘Promise Me Dad’ and launched the ‘American Promise’ speaking tour while with CAA.”
The ghostwriters and speechwriters could be revving up now to fit out Old Joe with some suitably statesmanlike utterances, and who knows? He might decide that now’s the time to follow Barack and Michelle into more glamorous ventures. CAA also counts the Obamas among their clients. Back in 2018, Barack and Michelle joined up with Netflix and established Higher Ground Productions, which was designed to “amplify diverse voices in the entertainment industry.” The Obamas could serve as a pattern of action for Old Joe.
And really, the sky’s the limit. Maybe Old Joe could set up his own company, too: The Big Guy Productions, designed to amplify the voices of senescent, senile corruptocrats in the entertainment industry. Maybe we’ll get a little bit of Soft Shoe Joe, or Variety Show Joe, or Singing Joe, or Comedian Joe. He could star in a new hit TV series about a smug, aging kleptocrat whose old accomplices and henchmen put him out to pasture: the wily old protagonist battles his own demons and dementia as he plots elaborate schemes for revenge.
Seriously, though, CAA has far more dignified ventures in mind for the former chief figurehead of the United States. Richard Lovett, co-chair of CAA, tongue no doubt planted firmly in cheek, proclaimed: “President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs.” It is not known at this time whether or not the CAA sells bridges in Brooklyn as well, but one wonders how Lovett can run a talent agency that has some of the nation’s most popular actors and singers as clients, and yet be so poor a judge of talent as to think that Old Joe is respected. Influential he may be, but that is more due to his reflecting the leftist agenda and serving faithfully as the mouthpiece of those who were working to implement it while he held the title of president.

Having taken flight so decisively from reality, Lovett piled it on, adding that Biden’s “lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility. We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.” Yes, the long and sorry career of this garrulous, self-righteous, and self-serving old liar says nothing more clearly than “optimism, dignity, and possibility.” Oh, brother. The things people will say when large amounts of money are on the line.
Biden, meanwhile, contented himself with a vague threat, announcing, “I’m not going to be out of sight or out of mind.” Well, that’s just swell. But with even Nancy Pelosi and other top Democrats noticing Biden’s incapacity years ago, the CAA should take into account the fact that many of the people they might assume are part of their core constituency of Biden supporters would prefer that the old man be kept under wraps. After all, at this point, he is not going to get any sharper. It was not disclosed how much CAA paid to sign Old Joe, but if it was more than a buck or two, it was far, far too much.
