John Brennan is the poster child for the endemic corruption of our intelligence apparatus. Back in 2011, he oversaw the removal of all mention of “Islam” and “jihad” from counterterror training materials, hamstringing efforts to deal realistically with the jihad threat and violating the first and oldest rule of warfare: know your enemy. A viciously partisan attack dog, Brennan was a faithful servant of Barack Obama and his far-left agenda for years, while heaping scorn on Donald Trump and stoking hysteria about the threat Trump supposedly posed to “our democracy.” Now Trump is striking back, and Brennan is striking a whiny, self-righteous pose while actively trying to conceal his guilt.
Brennan, you see, was one of the 51 top “intelligence professionals” who in Oct. 2020 assured the world that Hunter Biden’s laptop, which contained clear evidence of the Biden crime family’s influence peddling as well as of Hunter’s out-of-control debauchery, was Russian disinformation.
The objective was to take the laptop away from Trump as a campaign issue, and it worked: during one of his debates with the president, Old Joe Biden invoked the assessment of the “intelligence professionals” to defuse the story. “There are 50 former national intelligence folks who said that what he’s accusing me of is a Russian plant,” Biden said, lying through his teeth. “Five former heads of the CIA, both parties, say what he’s saying is a bunch of garbage. Nobody believes it except his good friend Rudy Giuliani.”
Hunter’s laptop was real, of course, and now Trump is taking action against these alleged “professionals” for this flagrant partisanship and abuse of the public trust. One of Trump’s Inauguration Day executive orders, “Holding Former Government Officials Accountable for Election Interference and Improper Disclosure of Sensitive Governmental Information,” made the long-overdue move of stripping the security clearances from Brennan and his accomplices. And now Brennan is whining about it.
The New York Post reported Thursday that Brennan was trying to spin his lie about Hunter’s laptop and fool people into thinking he had been telling the truth. The old intel hack complained that Trump “misrepresented the facts in that executive order because it said that we had suggested that the Hunter Biden laptop story was Russian disinformation.” Well, yeah, that’s exactly what the “intelligence professionals” did.
Brennan, however, insisted that the stupid Orange Man had misunderstood the subtlety of what he and his fellow criminals had done. “No,” he explained, “we said it was one of the hallmarks of Russian information operations, including the dumping of accurate information, which is what we said in that letter.”
Sure, John. It’s clear that you guys were careful to insert enough weasel words into your statement to be able to maintain plausible deniability. Still, the statement was quite clearly intended to give the American people the impression that Hunter’s laptop was fake, cooked up by the Russians and that allegations of influence peddling were just attempts to besmirch the spotless reputation of Honest Old Joe Biden.
That is clear from the statement’s conclusion. Toward the end, it referred to “our view that the Russians are involved in the Hunter Biden email issue,” and added that “media reports say that the FBI has now opened an investigation into Russian involvement in this case.” The statement ends with this: “It is high time that Russia stops interfering in our democracy.”

Sheesh. Yeah, it sure is. Brennan’s disingenuousness about this statement now is just more of the same. The leftist establishment posed for years as impartial, disinterested professionals heroically going about their jobs in the service of the American people even when they were ferociously partisan attack dogs doing everything they could to demonize Trump, destroy him politically, and target his supporters as well. Now Trump is calling them out and holding them responsible for what they did, and Brennan’s weasel words only make him look pathetic.
Be a man, Brennan. Own up to what you did. Say it: “I hated and feared Trump so much that I knowingly lied in order to deceive the American people and do my best to get him out of office.”
If you had an ounce of integrity and ever served the American people the way you swore to do, you would take your medicine and issue exactly that kind of statement now. The fact that you will not do so and are still resorting to silly dodges to exculpate yourself is only more evidence that Trump was absolutely correct to strip you of your security clearance. You never should have had one in the first place.
