Does Old Joe Biden even know that he is supposed to be playing the role of president of the United States in the big three-ring circus in Washington? There are increasing indications that he doesn’t, at least not all the time. On Friday, he gave us a new one when he was asked about his administration’s abandonment of Israel.
A reporter dared to step out of the establishment media’s usual sycophantic role toward Democrat chief executives and dared to ask the putative president the burning question of the day: whether the Biden regime had definitively betrayed the only free republic in the Middle East, and the nation that is on the front lines today of the global jihad.
The reporter asked: “Did you threaten to stop military aid to Israel?" To that, Old Joe replied in an authoritative tone, “I asked them to do what they’re doing.” This was either yet another one of Biden’s innumerable lies, or an indication that he had no clue what he had threatened Israel with at all. Since Biden is as dementia-ridden as he is mendacious, there is absolutely no way to tell.

BIDEN: "I asked them to do what they're doing."
*Biden shuffles away*

One thing, however, is certain: neither he nor anyone involved in the Biden regime asked Israel “to do what they’re doing.” CNN reported Friday that Old Joe “told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that the overall humanitarian situation in Gaza is unacceptable and warned Israel to take steps to address the crisis or face consequences.”
Does that sound to you as if he asked the Israelis to “do what they’re doing”? No, it doesn’t sound that way to me, either. The White House also issued a statement, saying that “President Biden emphasized that the strikes on humanitarian workers and the overall humanitarian situation are unacceptable. He made clear that U.S. policy with respect to Gaza will be determined by our assessment of Israel’s immediate action on these steps.”
Old Joe, according to this statement, demanded that Israel “announce and implement a series of specific, concrete, and measurable steps to address civilian harm, humanitarian suffering, and the safety of aid workers.” That looks as if he did exactly the opposite of asking the Israelis to do what they’re doing, or at least what they’re falsely accused of doing by the far-left activists for whom Biden is betraying Israel.
When the reporter pressed Biden with a refreshingly direct follow-up question, “Are you abandoning Israel?,” Biden replied, “Where you from, man?” That was it. Of course, even if Old Joe knows full well that he’s abandoning Israel for the sake of Michigan, he is still residually politically savvy enough, even in the fog of his dementia, to refuse to admit it. Or he may simply have no idea what he said on his call to Netanyahu and what threats he made to the Israeli prime minister. The reporter was pressing him, after all, a whole day after the fateful call; how could anyone expect Biden to remember something for that long?
And so we have the same ambiguous situation that arose when Old Joe notoriously officially proclaimed March 31, the day that most of the Western world was celebrating Easter, the “Transgender Day of Visibility.” When asked about House Speaker Mike Johnson's (R-La.) charge that the proclamation “betrayed the central tenet of Easter” and was “outrageous and abhorrent,” Biden responded that Johnson was “thoroughly uninformed. I didn’t do that.”
Related: But for Michigan, Joe?
It has been four days since Biden said that, and it’s an indication of the abysmal state of journalism today that no reporter has asked him how he could possibly claim that he didn’t proclaim Easter to be the Transgender Day of Visibility when the official proclamation is readily available at the White House website, signed by Old Joe Biden himself. Does Biden not remember that he did this? Or is he just giving us yet another of his brazen lies?
There really is no way to tell. This is, after all, the man who, during a mid-January campaign stop in Pennsylvania, ambled into a coffee shop and announced: “My name's Joe Biden. I work for the government in the Senate.” All right, so chalk it up to dementia. But this is also the man with a career-long record of the most brazen and bald-faced lies imaginable.
So we have two choices, and neither one is good. Either Biden is too dishonest to be president, or he’s too demented to be president. Four more years!
