Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is a warrior for Planet Earth. Like ancient knights of old who battled dragons and monsters in glorious single combat to determine the fate of the kingdom, so, too, does AOC gird her loins and enter the fray without fear or doubt.
Well … maybe a little fear.
Freshman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., claims she has awakened frightened from sleep at 3:30 a.m. because she’s worried about the negative effects of climate change on the world.
Ocasio-Cortez was livestreaming on Instagram Wednesday and answering questions from viewers, when she acknowledged having extreme angst over the state of the climate
“Even while I was on vacation, I woke up in the middle of the night, at 3:30 in the morning, just concerned about climate change,” she said.
This is very worrisome. Even brave knights must get a good night’s sleep. How can she slay the global warming dragon if she’s napping at a crucial time?
The New York Democrat also said she struggles with balancing her work life, and claimed climate change might affect her ability to have a family.
“I’m 29 years old. I really struggle sometimes with the idea of how to be a policymaker and potentially have a family in the time of climate change,” she said. “And it really, like, freaks me out and it can be really, really scary.”
I don’t think she has to worry about a family. It usually takes two humans — one of them preferably male — to make a little AOC. I don’t see too many men volunteering.
Just as an aside, what “policy” has the congresswoman “made.” Oh, she’s made a lot of noise. She’s made a lot of people sick to their stomachs.
But “policymaker”? Nada.
“We are kind of blowing past a lot of the markers that scientists thought would happen years from now, and they’re actually happening now. Our glaciers are melting, our sea levels are rising,” she said.
“I’m scared sometimes, too, about the world that I’m going to be living in, that we’re all going to be living in. And I sometimes fear what we’re going to be living with when I’m 40, 50, 60 years old.”
“Cats and dogs. Living together. Mass hysteria!”
For the record, some glaciers are melting and many are growing. And most global warming “experts” predicted that many islands in the Pacific Ocean would be underwater by now. It’s true that some smaller islands have disappeared. But many predictions of catastrophe simply haven’t panned out.
Is the situation so bad that it’s enough to lose sleep over? I suppose for a drama queen like AOC, who isn’t really happy unless the world is ready to end, yes.
If I were her, I’d worry what ordinary people are going to do to her when her chicken little predictions turn out to be as bogus as a three dollar bill. Tarring and feathering lying politicians may come back into style.
