'Some People Did Something': Ilhan Omar's Unbelievable Description of 9/11 Attacks.

If I hadn’t seen the video of Rep. Ilhan Omar’s speech at a Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) event. I wouldn’t have believed an American said this.

“CAIR was founded after 9/11 because they recognized that some people did something, and that all of us were starting to lose access to our civil liberties,” Omar said.

Omar made these remarks last month, which begs the question: How her words had escaped notice for so long? The video first appeared on Twitter earlier this week.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw was incredulous:

Her description of American Muslims being “second-class citizens” and how Muslims were “starting to lose access to our civil liberties” following 9/11 were equally idiotic. How are they second-class citizens? Who is taking away access to their civil liberties? These are straw man arguments used by those who wish to portray American Muslims as the real victims of 9/11.

I suppose we could describe Omar’s commentary on 9/11 as despicable, unfeeling, crass, or just plain stupid. But this is one case where I will break my longstanding rule and describe her comments as un-American.

Because they are.
