Even 11-year-old kids recognize media bias when they see it.
Matthew Schricker, the young man who questioned vice presidential candidate Mike Pence at a town hall on Wednesday about whether he was “softening up on Mr. Trump’s policies” and whether this would be his role in the administration, appeared on MSNBC on Friday with anchor Chris Jansing.
Jansing apparently believed she could get the young man to go negative on Trump and Pence. But the pro-Trump Master Schricker schooled the anchor and called her out for bias.
Anchor Chris Jansing had suggested that 11-year-old Matthew Schricker “challenged his loyalty” when he asked Pence at at rally on Thursday night if it would be his job in a Trump administration to “soften up” Trump’s policies and rhetoric.
Schricker took issue with the way his question was portrayed by the left-leaning network, and didn’t shy away from setting the record straight.
“I was not meaning for it to be hostile. As you said before, I was challenging him. No, I was not,” Schricker said. “I was totally just asking him to see if Mr. Trump was approving. I was not trying to be mean to him or challenging him or trying to bait him, like many websites who are saying I was grilling him.”
“I was not doing anything to offend him or the Trump campaign, Schricker added.
Jansen then clarified that she meant the characterization “as a compliment,” noting that the 11-year-old had asked a “tough question” of the Republican vice presidential nominee.
At the conclusion of the interview, Jensen said: “I hope you don’t feel we misrepresented you in any way, Matthew.”

Of course they misrepresented what the young man said. They consider that a job well done. They take the truth and twist it, bend it, stroke it, shape it, hammer it, and mold it until it is entirely unrecognizable. In this case, a thoughtful question from a young Trump supporter who was curious about Pence’s divergence from some of Trump’s positions morphed into a “grilling” of the candidate who was “put on the spot.”
And the young will show them they way to truth and light.
