Trump Uses Illegal Drugs to Tout His Border Wall

The Trump administration has unveiled a broad illegal drug policy. President Trump, who doesn’t even drink alcohol, highlighted the harms drug users face. But he also used this updated “war on drugs” to tout his border wall proposal.

President Trump said, “An astonishing 90 percent of the heroin in America comes from south of the border where we will be building a wall which will greatly help in this problem.” This seems like a reiteration of Trump’s controversial statement from the campaign — “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. […] They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems to us. They’re bringing drugs.They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists.”
