After Announcing English-Speaking Immigration Policy, Fallon Jokes Trump Had to Deport Himself

Some jokes transcend politics, and Jimmy Fallon pointed out something pretty hilarious last night on The Tonight Show. After then-candidate Trump promised us, in December, 2015, that “I’m very highly educated. I know words, I know the best words,” he has gone on to a presidency laden with phrases like “bigly” and “covfefe.” But yesterday his administration announced that they were giving strong preference to green card applicants who speak English. Fallon quipped, “This morning, President Trump announced a new immigration plan that will favor people who speak English. Which is why tonight he had to deport himself.”
