Dem Senator Says 'Shouldn't It Be Illegal' for Politicians to Meet With Foreign Info Holders?

Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) has been considered a Democratic moderate, but even he has been sucked into the media/political quagmire that is the possibility of Trump/Russia collusion. He told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, “We know it’s illegal to take any financial contribution from any foreigner, from a foreign country. That is illegal under our campaign laws…. Shouldn’t it be illegal for us to have meetings with people for those same purposes?” Let’s break this statement down — firstly, he’s admitting that what Don Jr. did is not currently considered illegal. Secondly, he’s suggesting that any foreign meeting that has anything to do with information about the opposition candidate should be illegal! Aren’t Democrats casting themselves as friends of the immigrant and foreigner?
