Democrat Rep. Says Identity Politics Have Hijacked Her Party

Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) says that it isn’t the Democratic Party’s messaging that’s causing them to keep  losing, it’s that they’ve reduced themselves to identity politics. She says she warned her party that Michiganders, and other midwesterners, cared a lot about jobs, taxes, and trade deals and that Donald Trump could win in the region. Hillary Clinton’s campaign seemed to ignore her warning and went on to lose Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
