The New York Times‘ Glenn Thrush asked Press Secretary Sean Spicer, “Does the president have a thing with these totalitarian leaders?” He brings up Duterte, Kim Jong Un, Putin, and Hussein as examples of evil dictators that Trump has complimented. Thrush continued, “Does he admire something about the way these guys conduct themselves?” Admittedly it is odd that the president has called Kim a “smart cookie” and praised some of the others’ ability to hold on to power.
