Admitting that they didn’t really do a lot of new vetting on their security team picks, Sean Spicer said the Trump administration wasn’t responsible for the failings of their first national security advisor, Michael Flynn. He said that they trusted the security clearance process that was initiated and maintained under the Obama administration. So apparently if Russia was using Flynn as a tool to influence President Trump or sway the election, the fault lies with Trump’s predecessor.
