UPDATE: The Daily Mail is reporting “A high-ranking faculty member who spoke to NBC 4 Columbus said that one of his colleagues was in Watts Hall at the time and was slashed in the leg with a machete.”
UPDATE- CBS News is reporting:
Police said they killed at least one suspect during an active shooter lockdown at Ohio State University on Monday morning. It is not clear whether or not there is a second suspect, but police are advising locals to stay on lockdown because of an active shooter.
Officials say at least eight people were injured, one critically, in an incident that began at the campus’ chemical engineering building.
CBS Columbus affiliate WBNS reports the incident began around 9:30 a.m. when firefighters were responding to reports of a chlorine leak at the chemical engineering building. Someone had run a vehicle into the building, and then someone started attacking people inside the building with a knife.
An alert system warned students at Ohio State University of an active shooter on campus.
USA Today reports: “At least seven people were transported to local hospitals, one in critical condition, according to Columbus Police emergency dispatch communications.”
