Pajamas Media contributor and Middle East expert Barry Rubin reports that his blog, The Rubin Report, has now been banned by the Islamist government in Turkey:
Readers from Turkey report that when they try to go to Rubin Reports the text is blocked and the following message appears:
Bu siteye erisim mahkeme karariyla engellenmistir.
Which means: “Access to this site has been denied by court order.” It’s frequently seen on sites with “objectionable political content.” In other words, none of my Turkish readers can see the article you are reading now.
So the Turkish regime has banned my blog?
This is an additional sign that–as I’ve argued–democracy is being devoured there by an Islamist regime. Otherwise, my presumption is that this is being done by pro-government people who don’t want Turks to read my critiques of the regime and its policies.
Read more. Hey, why not let them into the EU??
