President Donald Trump criticized House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for not sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate before lawmakers left Washington, D.C.
“In fact, there’s no impeachment. Their own lawyer said there’s no impeachment. What are we doing here? The world is watching — crazy Nancy. She’s crazy, no, no. So now she says, you know — she has no case. She has no case, ‘so let’s not submit it.’ That’s good right? But you know what? So unfair. It’s so unfair,” Trump said at a Turning Point USA conference. “They are violating the Constitution, totally, totally. They’re violating the Constitution. In the meantime, our polls have gone through the roof.”
Trump’s comments were made after Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-Texas) gave Trump his “no” vote card on the impeachment articles.
Pelosi addressed the delay in the impeachment process on Monday.
“The House cannot choose our impeachment managers until we know what sort of trial the Senate will conduct,” Pelosi tweeted. “President Trump blocked his own witnesses and documents from the House, and from the American people, on phony complaints about the House process. What is his excuse now?”
