Conservative Journalist Andy Ngo Beaten Up and Hit With Cement by Antifa in Portland, Says Police Did Nothing

“Where the hell were all of you?” beaten and bloodied Quillette editor Angy Ngo asked police as they approached him to get him medical assistance. “Where the hell were you?”

On Saturday afternoon in Portland, Ore., Ngo was viciously attacked, hit in the face and had a milkshake filled with quick-dry cement thrown at him while filming an unlawful antifa protest. After the assault, police approached him.

“I had been assaulted twice earlier today and reported it to your colleagues, and nothing was done,” Ngo told the police officer assisting him. “And I was in the middle of the street in the front documenting this. They stole my evidence, they stole my GoPro.”

“They just started attacking me,” he told the cop. The policeman asked, “What did they use?”

“Their weapons and their hands — their shields, their signs, throwing milkshakes on me too,” Ngo said.

Jim Ryan, a reporter with The Oregonian, shared a video of the assault on Twitter.

In the aftermath of the attack, Ngo shared his current situation on Twitter. “Attacked by antifa. Bleeding,” he wrote. “They stole my camera equipment. No police until after. waiting for ambulance. If you have evidence Of attack please help.”

Ngo had been filming a large antifa march in Portland. Antifa had not secured a permit for the protest, which shut down multiple streets in the Oregon city.

“This is now a civil disturbance and unlawful assembly. Please disperse immediately,” Portland Police tweeted.

“Police have received information that some of the milkshakes thrown today during the demonstration contained quick-drying cement. We are encouraging anyone hit with a substance today to report it to police,” the force added.

According to Oregon Live, the antifa protest was organized in opposition to a Proud Boys demonstration and a “Him Too” demonstration organized by Haley Adams.

As Ngo was filming, he described the event as “an unpermitted protest.” His negative descriptions of the protest may have tipped him off to antifa.
