Update below.

After President Donald Trump announced his nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court, Judge Brett Kavanaugh, a Fox News anchor reported feeling threatened by the aggressive protesters mobbing the streets. Shannon Bream said she had to flee for safety back to the Fox News studio in Washington, D.C.

“Very few times I’ve felt threatened while out in the field. The mood here tonight is very volatile,” Bream tweeted. “Law enforcement appears to be closing down 1st Street in front of SCOTUS.”

Later, she added, “Literally had to bail on our live show from [the Supreme Court]. Moving the show back to the safety of the studio. See y’all at 11p.”

Bream’s reports come amid news that “Refuse Fascism” has launched a protest in cities across America,  including Washington, D.C. Many protests associated with anti-fascist (or Antifa) groups have grown violent, and protesters believe themselves justified in rioting on the grounds that Trump and the Republicans are morally on par with Adolf Hitler.

Bream will appear at 11 p.m. Eastern, leading the show “Fox News @ Night.” I’ll bet she has a story to tell.

Update.

Bream addressed this in an interview with Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.). “Last year there were certainly protesters out there and there was definitely opposition to Justice Gorsuch. Tonight we saw something different,” the Fox News anchor said.

“We did have a plan to have our show out there live. It got so volatile at points that we ultimately didn’t feel like it would be safe to do an hour of live television out there. Where are we?” she concluded. Where, indeed.
