Ted Cruz’s April Fools’ game is strong. For months, he has challenged Republican frontrunner Donald Trump to a one-on-one debate, and according to Cruz’s joke, Trump finally accepted!
Cruz broke the news on Twitter, declaring, “Happy to hear @realDonaldTrump accepted by challenge to debate one-on-one!” In the tweet, he posted a link to a hilarious video PJ Media could not refrain from sharing.

The clip is short, and begins with Cruz challenging The Donald to a debate duel. “I would like to invite Donald, right now, to engage in a one-on-one debate with me, anytime,” Cruz declares.
Then the video cuts to Trump, who bombastically declares, “We’ve had eleven debates; according to the polls, I’ve won every single debate.” Then another clip, from earlier in the campaign, has Trump accepting Cruz’s challenge: “We’re going to go on forever with these debates.”
Then comes the classic Rick Roll, as the clip forces viewers to listen to Rick Astley’s “Never Gonna Give You Up.” That’s right, Twitter, you’ve been played.
